Epworth Turbary
Cold, frosty days create an air of mystery at Epworth Turbary in the Isle of Axholme.

This nature reserve is one of the few relicts of the raised bog in the county. Covering over 80 acres, it has areas of sphagnum bog, birch woodland, reed swamp and and mixed fen vegetation, where the rare fen sedge, Cladium mariscus, which was once widely used for ridge thatching, can be seen.

Visit The Point Cafe at Gibraltar Point
Even if it's raining or foggy, it’s still worth visiting Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve. With winter upon us, the Point Café has some great warming lunchtime meals on the menu including new specials everyday and Sunday lunches served every Sunday from 12noon 'til 2pm
